What is the competing message?
The competing message is fact-based information that counters the popular narratives targeting our young people. These narratives often diminish their confidence, self esteem and raise doubts:
Am I good enough?
Am I pretty enough?
Am I smart enough?
Am I strong enough?
Am I…enough?
Why produce a competing message?
Marketing brigades are nonstop in their dispatching content to influence values and behaviors of young women and girls. Nurah believes it is imperative to counteract the harmful effects of media and provide an alternative narrative that’s both enlightening and empowering. Nurah helps youth tackle feelings of inadequacy and low self esteem and the counterproductive behaviors which often result.
